Mr. Chikezie Nwosu is an experienced senior executive with over 30 years local and international experience in the oil & gas industry with demonstrated expertise in the management of upstream oil & gas projects, new business development, divestments and acquisitions, midstream gas and downstream refining.

Mr. Chikezie Nwosu is an experienced senior executive with over 30 years local and international experience in the oil & gas industry with demonstrated expertise in the management of upstream oil & gas projects, new business development, divestments and acquisitions, midstream gas and downstream refining.

Mr. Nwosu has worked with leading international oil and gas companies including Western Atlas (now Baker Atlas) for 5 years, Regional Discipline Manager, Shell Nigeria, Sub-Saharan Africa and International (16 years), Deputy Managing Director (Technical), SINOPEC-Addax Petroleum Nigeria (6 years), EVP Business Development, Tolea Energy B.V. (since 2019) and, recently, Managing Director and Chief
Executive Officer, Waltersmith (4 years). He has also served on the Boards of Addax Petroleum Development Nigeria Limited (APDNL), Addax Petroleum Exploration Nigeria Limited (APENL). Tolea B.V. The Netherlands, Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited and Waltersmith Refining & Petrochemical Company Limited.

During his over 6-years period with Addax Petroleum, Mr. Nwosu, as GM Development & Asset Management and later DMD Technical, delivered the 1.0 Tcf OML-123 Associated Gas Gathering Project FDP (termed GEFD – Gas Export and Flares Down), the 3.0 Tcf OML-137 Gas Utilization FDP, 9 Field Development plans including 5 in OML-123 (Adangha Main, Adangha South, Adangha East, Antan and Kita Marine Fields) under the Greater Brownfield Development Project (GBFD), 1 x Greenfield development in OML-124 (Njaba Field), 1x Brownfield Expansion in OML-126 (Okwori Field Expansion) and 2 x Greenfield Developments in OML-137 (Ofrima and Udele Fields) including the successful execution of 5 of these FDPs, adding over 30,000 bopd additional production. He also led the commercial team in negotiations on the OML-126 Sendje-Berge FPSO and the OML-123 Knock Adoon FPSO contract renewals, the gas commercial business, exploration, petroleum engineering and geosciences, economics & business planning and facilities and project management functions.
Mr. Nwosu retired from Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited in March 2023 after delivering the first 5,000 bopd modular refinery in Nigeria and leading the acquisition of the 100MMboe Block EG23 in Equatorial Guinea in 2020 (EGRONDA 2019 bid round) and the 20MMbbl Assa marginal field in 2021, setting the company on its growth trajectory.

In April 2023, Mr. Nwosu returned to his parent company, Tolea B.V. as EVP Business Development and founded HSI Energy Resources Nigeria Limited as Tolea’s in-country affiliate. He also currently serves on the Advisory Board to the Chairman of Heirs Holding Oil & Gas, Nigeria Limited.

He holds a 1983 B.Sc (First Class Hons) in Engineering Physics (Nuclear Engineering Science) from the University of Ife, a 1986 M.Sc (with Distinction) in Physics (Theoretical Nuclear Physics) from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and is a member of several professional organizations including the Society of Petroleum Engineers (2017/2018 SPE Nigeria Council Chairman), member SPE Nigeria Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Board of SISL (SPENC Integrated Services Limited), member Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) and currently serves on the Advisory Council of the Nelson Mandela Institute’s African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja
