Elijah has worked for Shell in The Netherlands, UK and in Nigeria. Before he left Shell in 2014 to join his family in the Netherlands, he was the Commercial Manager that delivered the following projects:
He managed Shell’s opportunity to acquire Chevron Nigeria Limited’s (CNL) Oil Mining License (OML) 55 to gain access to approximately 91 Million barrels (MMstb) of oil and 2 Trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of gas through asset swap with a mandate for minimal increase to unit operating costs, HSE and operational exposure.
He initiated and delivered Osubi divestment project including the tendering, bidding and negotiation of the sale and purchase agreements. He developed a Commercial construct and managed all the Commercial activities for the operatorship transfer of OML 11 to Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), a subsidiary of NNPC. He led the negotiation of the Side Letter to the Joint Operating Agreement and networked with senior government officials for execution and successfully transferred Ogoni Assets to NNPC.
He was responsible for the Condensate sale in Shell. He orchestrated the sale and the commingling of Condensate with the natural gas to the Bonny terminal for upward lifting. He led the delivery of the first SAP for HR project in Shell Nigeria, and he delivered the Remote Operation and Capability implementation of $1.2 billion in Shell.
In 2007, he was nominated for a cross posting assignment in the Netherlands. He became the Global EP Portfolio Planning Manager for non-oil and gas Assets. He matured projects worth over $2 billion during the period. He also led the green field planning of the Shell Asset in Kazakhstan.
While at the Word Sustainability Fund (WSF), The Netherlands, he was the Country Director that matured over 120 million dollar in Renewable Energy. He engaged key Stakeholders of the Nigerian Minister of Planning, The Netherlands Ambassador, The Environmental Director, and Presented the overall plan to the Nigeria National Assembly. He has executed due diligence for several organization and advised the go/no go scenarios.
He became the Executive Director of ENAULD Technology, Health Research & Services and was seconded to Jake Riley Limited as the Lead Consultant and Head of IT, a sub-contractor to NNPC, Standard Organization of Nigeria(SON) and Oil & Gas Free Trade Zone (OGFTZ). He managed the transformation of the NNPC and led digitization of SON and OGFTZ in Nigeria. He returned to the parent Company in the Netherland and was once again seconded to TCS where he was responsible for the Target Operating Model for Shell under the Enterprise Recovery Program. He was later seconded to Wipro Ltd as Program Director where he delivered the solution to SVP in Upstream (UP), Integrated Gas (IG), and Renewable Energy Solution (RES).
Elijah has a B. Sc in Mathematics from University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, an MBA from Cranfield University, UK and a M. Sc in Financial Management & Control from the Hague University in the Netherlands. He is on a PhD track in Business Management from Nyenrode Business University in the Netherlands.
He is married to Dr Ngozi Akwataghibe. He has 3 Children, and when he is not working, he likes Evangelizing and spending quality time with his family.
